What is the Queenstown Arts Society?
Our Mission is to promote and encourage participation and opportunities in the visual arts for the benefit of the Queenstown community and the greater whakatipu.
What we do:
QAS is a registered charity and incorporated society run mainly on the volunteer input of local arts-passionate people, many of whom are artist/makers. QAS works on a membership basis and we welcome all comers to join us to start a creative journey that is supported and encouraged through connection to us. (Please join through this website.)
QAS builds community art awareness and supports artists/makers through major art exhibitions, smaller permanently rotating art exhibitions and skill-based workshops for all those interested. We work hard to bridge the gap for independent artists/makers to develop their practice and profiles by bringing their work into the public arena.
Since 2022, QAS has been part of Queenstown’s arts, culture and community centre, Te Atamira, in Frankton, Queenstown. We are a virtual resident there, operating through a calendar of events, booking exhibition and creative practice spaces in advance. Our website is our home otherwise. To find out about our events, check out our website, social media, or send us an email to hello@queenstownartsociety.co.nz - we are here for you and we would love to hear from you!
Make a donation.
As a registered charity (CC 49956) and a not-for-profit organisation we rely upon the generosity of our members, grants and support from local and national funding bodies, and donations from individuals and organisations to allow us to do what we do. If you’d like to lend a hand, please get in touch - ever little bit helps!
