What is the Queenstown Art Society?

Our Mission is to promote and encourage participation and opportunities in the visual arts for the benefit of Queenstown and the surrounding community.

What we do.

We are a registered charitable trust dedicated to supporting, producing and presenting visual arts and creative practices in the Whakatipu region.

We focus on building community art awareness and creative opportunities, holding exhibitions, workshops, etc. for all those interested. We help to bridge the gap for independent artists to develop their profiles and bring their work into the public arena.

We run virtually through our website and are a resident within Queenstown’s community arts and culture facility - Te Atamira, in Frankton - where we use exhibition and creative practice spaces.

As a registered charity (CC 49956) and a not-for-profit organisation we rely upon the generosity of our members, grants and support from local and national funding bodies, and donations from individuals and organisations to allow us to do what we do. If you’d like to lend a hand, please get in touch - ever little bit helps!
